Different Types of Door Locks?
The most common lock types usually found on residential/commercial properties are detailed below:
1. Nightlatch or Yale lock
This type of lock perfectly meets British Standards BS 3621 and BS 8621 and they offer the maximum level of security
2. Mortice style locks
Here are a couple of examples of mortice style locks which are British Standards approved.
Mortice Sash Lock
A Sashlock features a bolt and latch and is for use with door handles.
Mortice Deadlock
A Deadlock features a bolt which is operated by a key, and is often used in conjunction with a nightlatch.
3. Euro profile cylinder locks
Euro cylinder locks are generally fitted on UPVC doors on either commercial or residential property. They can also be used on shop front door, and key switches that can operate roller shutters for businesses.
